Thank God for a successive blooming of my amaryllis.
This combo is an welcome accident!
A couple of posts ago I wrote about a gardener’s anticipation.
Well, I welcome these beauties, especially in these days when sunshine seems to be missing too often. I will leave this grouping for many years in this same pot, as they will multiply and become an even more magnificent display.
While meandering through the crowds at the Philadelphia flower show, I made several observations about humans and plants. We tend to group together. It is okay to stand alone. And sometimes it is just a matter of rearranging to get a better fit. (As it was for me when I saw this particular combination.)

A picture-perfect display put together by a Clematis vendor showed beautiful specimens. More inviting to me was how the clematis climbed through evergreens or tumbled around them. This particular combination–of a purple variety embracing several gold mops was especially pleasing. And I hope to GROW THAT combination in my own landscape.
On this rather gray day in late February this gardener dreams. Yes, though I live in the moment, EVERY gardener lives with anticipation! It is one of the JOYS of this passion. Just look at these buds filling up, about to burst out.
And I must admit I’m not certain what color they will be. What fun!!
